Starbay is a brand of Centrale Distribution, a SAS with capital of €120,000. Created in 1977, the company's registered office is located at Créteil (94000) 7-9 rue Jean Jaurès. Registered with the Créteil trade register under number 1986 B 19547.

User: any natural person, with or without an account, using the Site or one of the services offered on it.

Data collection and processing purposes

The SELLER collects personal data about its Users on the SITE, including by means of cookies. USERS may deactivate cookies by following the instructions provided by their browser.

This data is collected when the User :

  • create an account
  • subscribes to newsletters or alerts offered by the SELLER
  • place an order or request a return on the site
  • places products in their shopping basket, using functional cookies (See "Cookies" paragraph), to enable them to finalise their purchase at a later date
  • contacts the SELLER's Customer Service by any means of communication available to him/her, such as e-mail, instant messaging (chat), etc.
  • participates in a promotional game/competition
  • browses the Site and consults articles
  • writes a comment or an opinion on an article
  • fills in an information form or questionnaire on the Site

The data collected is required for the following purposes:

  • Management and monitoring of commercial relations between the SELLER and the customer (in particular operations relating to orders, deliveries and returns, transactions, payments and invoices, complaints, etc.).
  • Sending commercial prospecting (see "Newsletters" paragraph)
  • Personalisation of Site content, display of targeted advertising, in particular on social networks.
  • Sharing information with our commercial partners
  • Provision of sharing buttons for social networks
  • Setting up promotional games
  • Carrying out audience measurement statistics and marketing studies
  • Preventing and combating fraud when paying for orders

Account creation, forms and questionnaires

The User must complete all the fields on the account creation form or any form for entering information on the Site, with the exception of fields displayed as optional, i.e. not marked with an asterisk. Optional information is collected by THE SELLER and is used to get to know Site Users better.

All information marked with an asterisk is compulsory. The User must reply.

Any failure to reply will result in the User not creating an account or not validating the information entry form. THE SELLER will not respond to the User's requests.

Recipient of data

The data collected is intended for use by the SELLER. The data may be transmitted to commercial and advertising partners.

The data may also be processed by subcontractors used by THE SELLER to personalise the content of the Site, to send personalised promotional offers and to dispatch orders.

Rights of access, rectification and deletion

The User is informed that this automated processing of personal data has been declared to the CNIL. In accordance with the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978 as amended, the User has the right to access, rectify and delete data concerning him or her. Users may expressly object to the processing of their personal data. To do so, simply write to 36 rue Clément Ader 91700 FLEURY MEROGIS or fill in the online form Contact Customer Service.

The User must indicate his/her surname, first name and postal address. Their request must be signed and accompanied by a valid form of identification bearing their signature. The User may specify the address to which the reply should be sent.

THE SELLER has 2 months from receipt of the User's request to respond. At the end of this period, the Customer may refer the matter to the CNIL in the event of a negative response or no response from the SELLER.

The CUSTOMER may also exercise this right directly from their customer account, where the User will be able to consult their personal data, modify it or request its deletion.

Data retention period

THE SELLER keeps the data for a period of five years from the end of the relationship with the customer or prospect. The period begins either with the last order, or the last connection to the customer account, or the last call to customer service, or the sending of an e-mail to customer service, or a click on a hypertext link in an e-mail sent by THE SELLER, or the placing of products in the shopping basket without the purchase being completed, or finally a positive response to an e-mail asking whether the customer wishes to continue to receive commercial canvassing at the end of the five-year period. At the end of this period, the customer's or prospect's data will be rendered anonymous.

Nevertheless, information allowing proof of a right or a contract to be established, or kept in order to comply with a legal obligation, may be archived in accordance with the legal provisions in force.

Newsletters

When creating their account and subsequently managing their preferences via the "My Account" section, Users may subscribe to the SELLER's newsletter and thus choose to be informed at regular intervals of offers available on the Site. Users may at any time modify the information they wish to receive or unsubscribe by clicking on the appropriate link at the bottom of each newsletter.

Identified Users who have chosen one or more of the services offered by the Site also subscribe to the newsletter. They may at any time modify the information they wish to receive or unsubscribe by clicking on the appropriate link at the bottom of each newsletter.

As an exception to the above and in accordance with article L 34-5 of the French Post and Electronic Communications Code, the SELLER may send commercial prospecting by electronic means to Users who have not given their prior consent, provided that the User is already a customer of the SELLER, that they have not objected to receiving commercial prospecting when creating their account and that the prospecting concerns products or services similar to those already provided by the SELLER. They may unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link provided in each newsletter.

Postal mail and telephone number

Users who do not wish to be the subject of commercial canvassing by telephone are informed that they have the right to oppose telephone canvassing by entering their landline and/or mobile telephone numbers on the free opposition list accessible via the website http://www.bloctel.gouv.fr/. Users are informed that their request will be processed within 30 days of confirmation of their registration. This registration is valid for a period of 3 years.

SMS / MMS

The SELLER may use the customer's mobile telephone number to manage orders and may also use it for commercial prospecting purposes. At any time, the customer has the option of objecting simply by replying STOP to the SMS received.

The SELLER uses cookies in order to recognise the User (whether a customer or not) when connecting to the Site.

Security measures taken by the SELLER to protect personal data

The SELLER implements all technical means in accordance with best practice to maintain the integrity, security and confidentiality of data and in particular to prevent it from being distorted, damaged or accessed by unauthorised third parties.

No bank details are collected or stored by the SELLER when the order is placed.
